Lurker in the Land of Make-Believe: Ancient Rites deals with found structures in nature. During a residency at Ilam Park, England, I found an obscure shrine on the park's premises. To communicate the location of the ominous space to unsuspecting by-walkers, I cut a large triangle into wild garlic, thereby exposing the peculiar space and opening it up to the public. I placed a smaller triangle in the larger form to emphasize the pointer further. The cut garlic leaves were placed on the shrine as an offer of apology. I took a 360° virtual reality photograph to document the fantastical site.
